Seed Harvesting Class
For thousands of years, people harvested their own seeds to perpetuate healthy crops. That time-honored tradition subsided in the 19th century, when seeds were packaged in small envelopes and sold through shops and catalogs.
Return to your roots by learning how to collect and store seeds during a free presentation at the New Smyrna Beach Regional Library. Master Gardener Vivian Bowden will explain how to collect, dry, contain and plant seeds for your garden.
She will also offer bring some popular plants for presentation and point out the plants that are easiest to work with.
Reservations are not required.
The library is open seven days a week at 1001 S. Dixie Freeway, New Smyrna Beach. Hours are 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
