Please join us on the third Wednesday of each month for a special presentation by a carefully selected speaker regarding conservation and environmental issues.

Please bring a bag lunch to enjoy with the speaker after the program.

This month’s speaker will be David Griffis, County Extension Director/Natural Resource Agent. He will speak on the different soil types found on coastlines and in Canaveral National Seashore and the ongoing threat of exotic and invasive plant species.

Programs will be held at the Apollo Visitor Center Outdoor Pavilion, weather permitting, or inside auditorium if there is inclement weather.

 PLEASE NOTE: all programs are subject to cancellation and/or rescheduling due to staff limitations, weather conditions, or other factors. Some programs require reservations, a minimum age, or a cost-recovery fee.  Call 386-428-3384 ext. 0 for program information during operating hours (9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.), www.nps.gov/cana.  Entrance fees apply to all interpretive program participants.  All programs meet the requirements for the Canaveral National Seashore Junior Ranger program.

Farmers Market @ Old Fort Park and City Hall

Canoe Mosquito Lagoon @ Canveral Visitors Center

Reservations will begin a week before the canoe date.  Join a guide as you explore this rich and diverse estuary up close.  Some experience is preferred.  You must be at least 8 years old and able to paddle.

You must wear covered shoes (no sandals, flip-flops or Crocs.) Bring water, sunscreen and a hat. Dress to get wet.

Individuals with their own kayaks or canoes are welcome to join in.

Art Stroll / Gallery Walk @ Canal Street Historic District

art strollOn the first Saturday of the month, artistic vendors set up along the historic street.

A free concert also is scheduled from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. in Christmas Park.

Galleries feature solo and group exhibitions and artist talks in the Douglas Avenue area of the district from 4-7 p.m.

Admission is free.

Christmas parkLive music will be offered in an intimate setting in the Canal Street Historic District.

Music lovers may enjoy a free concert by Bob Thames Saltwater Soul.

Christmas Park is on the corner of Live Oak and Canal streets in New Smyrna Beach. Bring a lawn chair.
