picasso portraitsUsing the style made famous by Pablo Picasso, you’ll create a fun and colorful geometric painting of yourself or a partner! Bring your mom, your friend, your husband or wife or paint a self portrait! Learn a little something about cubism and leave with a fun avant-garde art piece sure to be a conversation starter!

Everyone will leave class with a completed 16″ x 20″ acrylic painting suitable for framing. This is a great class for all levels of experience.

Class size is limited. Please register in advance and arrive 10-15 minutes before class is scheduled to start.

Art Stroll / Gallery Walk @ Canal Street Historic District

art strollOn the first Saturday of the month, artistic vendors set up along the historic street.

A free concert also is scheduled from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. in Christmas Park.

Galleries feature solo and group exhibitions and artist talks in the Douglas Avenue area of the district from 4-7 p.m.

Admission is free.

The St. Johns River Festival of the Arts invites you! Be a part of the magic when Downtown Historic Sanford transforms into a premier art festival and art experience! Over 125 regionally and nationally accredited fine artists and craftsmen will line our charming brick streets with a selection of paintings, pottery, sculpture, woodworking, photography, jewelry, blown glass and much more. See how art work is created in over fifteen “Art-In-Action” demonstration sites designed to offer visitors insight into the artistic process.

Come and relax – Guests will be able to sit, relax and enjoy gourmet treats at the culinary arts food court providing fresh, handcrafted recipes. Stroll as you listen to the acoustic sounds of talented performing artists who create a delightful ambience as you stroll the festival.

Something new this year – is the addition of “Chalk on the Avenue.” The avenues will come alive with the artistic masterpieces created by local chalk artists underwritten by businesses, organizations and friends.

Come and spend the day - Enjoy a day of fine arts and fine crafts, excellent food and drinks, and music with plenty of FREE parking and FREE admission.
