Faithful to Dickens’ beautiful language, this adaptation of the beloved Christmas classic tells the heartwarming story of miserly Ebenezer Scrooge.
The race begins at 8 a.m. The 10k is a scenic route that takes runners across the Inlet Dunes boardwalk and the residential streets of the north beach.
The race is a charter member of the Daytona Area Grand Prix.

Perer will sing and play the acoustic guitar. Singer/Keyboardist Bob Thames will play “Saltwater Soul” music from 1:30-2:30 p.m.
Christmas Park is on the corner of Live Oak and Canal streets in New Smyrna Beach. Bring a lawn chair.
Marching bands, decorated floats, dancers and even troupes of horses will travel the New Smyrna Beach Waterfront LOOP. The annual Christmas parade will travel the LOOP from Flagler Avenue to Canal Street in New Smyrna Beach.
The parade theme is “sleigh bells and snowflakes.”
Spectators will begin lining the parade route at 3:30 p.m. The North Causeway will close at 3:30 p.m. between Riverside Drive and Flagler Avenue. Drivers who want to avoid parade traffic should use the southern edge of the LOOP (the South Causeway).
The elected officials of the City, which shall constitute the City Commission, shall consist of four Commissioners and the Mayor. The City Commission shall constitute the governing body with powers hereinafter provided to pass ordinances, adopt regulations and appoint a Chief Administrative Officer to be known as the City Manager. Meetings are subject to change.
The hot dog cook-out and awards are scheduled from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Prizes will be awarded in three age divisions. All fish must be caught at the park.
The big guy and Mrs. Claus will provide toys to the local Toys for Tots program and greet local children and families.
The FEC Toys for Tots train is a partnership between the FEC and the Toys for Tots organization that gives FEC employees an opportunity to give toys to children in the communities along eight stops on the FEC rail line between Jacksonville and Miami.
The toys are distributed later by the local Toys for Tots organizations. Children attending the stop also may donate to the Toys for Tots drive.
