Each Saturday, vendors take their place in front of Old Fort Park in the Canal Street Historic District. Local farmers offer fruit, vegetables, herbs, flowers, plants, juices, dairy, seafood and grass-fed meats.
Organic and pesticide-free produce are available. Quality handcrafted items and baked goods also are offered.
The area around the NSB Waterfront LOOP’s Christmas Park will be transformed into a dance floor later this month. Free Latin dance lessons will be offered as part of Salsa in the Park.
Lessons will be offered on several Latin dance styles. The full schedule includes:
- 6 – 6:45 p.m.: Salsa and zumba party
- 7 – 7:30 p.m.: Salsa, merengue and cha-cha line dancing
- 7:30 – 9 p.m.: Open dance to Latin music
- 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.: A Taste of Salsa (food) contest
Christmas Park is on the corner of Canal and Live Oak streets in New Smyrna Beach.
The event is hosted by the City of New Smyrna Beach and is open to the public.

Canal Street Historic District galleries, every first Saturday, will feature monthly solo and group exhibitions, artist talks and live music in Christmas Park. Admission is free.
Music lovers may enjoy a free concert by Guitarist Thomas Jones. It will be from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Saturday, June 1, in the Canal Street Historic District’s Christmas Park. Christmas Park is on the corner of Live Oak and Canal streets in New Smyrna Beach. Bring a lawn chair.
Food truck foodies will have new menu options when a fleet of food trucks rolls into the LOOP’s Canal Street Historic District.
“These food trucks will bring new culinary options,” said Liz Yancey, New Smyrna Beach recreation and events manager. “We’ve sandwiched this event between the Art Stroll and the Gallery Walk. It will be a fun, busy day around Canal Street.”
Dishes will include flat bread, tacos, barbeque, fish, lobster, crab, Vietnamese cuisine, gelato, ice cream and more.
As many as 20 trucks are expected to participate.

The Canal Street Cruise will be held along historic Canal Street. Sponsored by the East Coast Cruisers, the family-friendly classic car show offers food and entertainment in a historic setting.
Kids Create is an art summer camp offered to children in 5 years old through 5th grade. The camp offers art education in face painting, mask making, veggie printing, collage making, painting, clay, and kite making.
Scholarships are available to those who qualify.

Amateur teams will consist of families, friends, co-workers and community groups. All competitors will create their own sand sculptures in 10′ X 10′ plots of cordoned beach. Prizes will be awarded for individual adult, child and team categories, judged by both professionals and local celebrity judges. Sand art professionals will also create magnificent sculptures, showing off one of our area’s most valued natural resources. This is a free event, however spaces will be limited.
Teen Extreme is an art summer camp offered to teens in 6th-12th grade. The camp offers art education in digital arts, painting with light, jewelry making, wood sculpting, 3-D additive sculpture, painting to music, clay, drawing and more.
Scholarships are available to those who qualify.
