What better way to kick off a surf competition than a block party? Start shaking your maracas on Thursday, June 20th on Flagler Avenue in New Smyrna Beach. This long-standing community “block party” features live bands, food vendors, craft and art stands, surfing displays, surf pro meet-and-greets, a kids zone, and a “tween” zone.

reggae festivalThe inaugural New Smyrna Beach Reggae Festival is here. No need to set sail for the Carribbean, we’ll bring Jamaica to you. Bring a chair or grab a seat along Flagler Ave., then relax and enjoy the beautiful sounds of Trenchtown with a variety of performances at multiple locations.

Surfari Club Amateur Surf Competition @ Flagler Ave.

surf competitionCatch a wave at this always-radical family-friendly amateur surfing event on the beach at the Flagler Avenue beach approach. The spirit of this safe event is fun and beginners are welcome. If the waves do not allow for a successful competition, it is moved to the inlet area in North Beach. Come meet some of your favorite pro surfers, get free surfing lessons and meet new friends while taking in the festive surroundings.


Bike and Bar @ JB's Fish Camp

bikeOnce again it is “Bike and Bar” time.  Last year ended with a total of around 1,100 riders. The promoters ask if you have any good photos or videos to link it/post them to the Bike and Bar Facebook page. If ordering shirts get the orders in soon. Please remember you do not need to buy a shirt, just show up.
Stops will include but not limited to:
JB’s, Moe’s, Sea Vista, Off the Hook, PJ’s, Beachside Tavern, Gnarly Surf Bar, Clancy’s, OM Bar, Tayton O’Brian’s, Trader’s, Flagler Tavern, Breakers, Baracuda’s, Peanuts
There is no cost to ride just show up at JB’s or join us along the way.
Shirts are available for $12 but not necessary.  Order by June 5th.

NSB 5K Beach Fun Run/Walk @ Flagler Ave.

This isn’t your every day 5K. This one will be along the beautiful sands of New Smyrna Beach, starting from the Flagler Avenue approach and heading south to the 27th Avenue approach. A low-tide start time will ensure a great, hard packed surface for both runners and walkers. Competitive runners will enjoy this timed beachfront race, while families and those just wanting to enjoy the day can opt to walk or stroll. Prizes will be given for top finishers.

Beach Walk @ Visitor Center

IMG_6506Discover gifts from the sea on a walk on the shore.  We’ll look for seashells, driftwood and other wonderful surprises.  Be sure to put on sun screen and bring plenty of water.

PLEASE NOTE: all programs are subject to cancellation and/or rescheduling due to staff limitations, weather conditions, or other factors. Some programs require reservations, a minimum age, or a cost-recovery fee.  Call 386-428-3384 ext. 0 for program information during operating hours (9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.), www.nps.gov/cana.  Entrance fees apply to all interpretive program participants.  All programs meet the requirements for the Canaveral National Seashore Junior Ranger program.

Upscale Pool Party @ Hilton Daytona Beach Resort

Wet Hilton pool party, daytona beachEvery weekend the Hilton Daytona Beach will be hosting the ONLY Upscale Pool Party with live DJ’s, two bars, signature cocktails, catered food and VIP cabana’s with bottle service.

WET Pool at the Hilton is located in the North Tower on the 5th floor. Valet parking is available.

Beach Attire is Required – 21 and up ONLY

Wine Walk @ Flagler Avenue
1:00 PM – 7:00 PM

winewalkfinalExplore interesting wines as you walk Flagler Avenue. During the progressive event, taste your choice of more than 100 showcased wines. Wine tasting passports are $25 and are available at 113 Flagler, at the tent at Flagler Avenue and Cooper Street, or at the corner of S. Atlantic and Flagler Avenue. Passports include 20 tasting tickets and a keepsake wine glass. Some locations feature both one- and multi-ticket wines to sample. Those who want to share their 20 tasting tickets with a friend may get an additional wine glass for $5.

Call it the “Grand Finale” or “Last Blast” of Beach Weeks. Put on your red, white and blue and head downtown to the Flagler Avenue area to watch the sky come alive with a delightful variety of sparkling colors and streaming lights.
