As the City of New Smyrna Beach continues to prepare an application for a new community redevelopment district, a series of stakeholder meetings are scheduled to solicit input from those who may benefit from the district. Meetings are scheduled Tuesday, March 5, in New Smyrna Beach City Hall Commission Chambers, 210 Sams Avenue, New Smyrna Beach. Meeting times are 9 – 10 a.m., 1- 2 p.m., and 5 p.m. The proposed CRA includes US 1 from just north of the municipal airport to the southern City limits, parts of the Historic Westside Community, the Canal Street Historic District, Bert Fish Medical Center, a portion of SR 44 to include the former K-Mart building, and contiguous residential areas. Seating is limited. Reservations are suggested.
Officer Williams from the NSB Police Department will be speaking about what to do in case of an armed attack. We will also have building and grounds showing us what to do in case of a hurricane. We want everyone to be safe and know what to do in an emergency. This is open to members and non-members and there is no fee.
