2:00 PM – 3:00 PM

marlinsRelive the days of the original Miami Marlins during a free presentation at the New Smyrna Beach Regional Library.

Dick Bunker, who played with the Marlins in 1957 and 1956, also will attend.

The team has been called “one of the most colorful and flamboyant teams to ever play in baseball’s minor league.” During the five years they played in Miami Stadium, fans were treated to their first taste of high-level baseball with a team composed of battle-hardened veterans and fresh up-and-comers.

Zygner is the leader of the South Florida chapter of the Society of Baseball Research.

The library is open seven days a week at 1001 S. Dixie Freeway. Hours are 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
