Businesses may make the most of their time by participating in the second annual New Smyrna Beach Job Fair from 10 a.m.- 1:30 p.m., Thursday, March 14, at the Alonzo “Babe” James Community Center, 201 N. Myrtle Ave., New Smyrna Beach. Participating businesses will have the opportunity to survey a large number of job applicants quickly and inexpensively during the event. They also will be able to network with other employers and cross-promote their business. Space is first come, first served. Advanced registration is required. The cost is $20 per table. Checks and envelopes should be made out to NSB Job Fair and mailed to New Smyrna Beach CRA Office, 210 Sams Avenue.
Music lovers may enjoy a free concert by Vocalist/Keyboardist Mary Cuchetti from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Saturday, April 6, in the Canal Street Historic District’s Christmas Park. The park is on the corner of Live Oak and Canal streets in New Smyrna Beach. Bring a lawn chair.
Business After Hours allows business men and women to connect and network. Chamber of Commerce members and non-members are welcome. Please RSVP.
This is the last membership meeting before the museum’s Picnic in May. Tootsie McDonald will be sharing about Relay for Life. The vote will also be held on this year’s Board of Directors. Feel free to bring snacks. There is no charge for this event.
Bill Ryan, author of I am Grey Eyes, Osceola, The Search for Old Kings Road and Bulow Gold will be the speaker. Wine and cheese reception to follow and Bill will be signing books. This event is by donation.
The New Smyrna Museum of History will fire up the griddle for the annual Picnic in the Park fundraiser.
The cost is $6 and includes pancakes, sausage, coffee and orange juice under the oaks.
A local Bluegrass group will provide entertainment.
