Artistic vendors will set up along historic Canal Street and live music will be performed in Christmas Park. Galleries will feature solo and group exhibitions and artist talks in the Douglas Avenue area of the district from 4-7 p.m. Admission is free.
Singer/Guitarist
Performing a mix of light rock, dance, country, soul, Motown and party music for all age groups. Christmas Park is on the corner of Live Oak and Canal streets in New Smyrna Beach. Bring a lawn chair.
Who: Steven Robertson, Sr., nationally recognized photographer of automobiles, boats and planes.
What/When/Where: In a nod to Daytona Beach’s
Speed Week, Robertson’s photographs will be on display at an opening reception on Saturday, February 2nd, from 5 to 8 p.m. featuring over 30 of his works in the solo gallery at The Hub on Canal. The show continues thru February 28th. Live music by Sara Strickhouser, singer, guitarist and song writer. The Hub is located at 132 Canal St., New Smyrna Beach. Open Tuesday – Saturday. Artist Bio: Steve was born at the Philadelphia Naval Hospital in 1945 and raised in the nearby South Jersey farm community of Hurffville. Travel with the US Navy fostered an intense interest in photography. He is a graduate of the University of South Florida (BA) and the University of Central Florida (MBA). Steve retired from his Titusville-based insurance agency in 2011, leaving him more time to pursue his passions – auto racing, hot rods, and photography. His striking photographs capture and meld those loves. Steve’s photographs have been published in major national car magazines. A father of five and grandfather of four, he is happily married to his high school sweetheart, the former Mary Jane Troupe.

What/When/Where: Celebrating Black History Month @ The Hub on Canal, opens Saturday, February 2nd from 5 to 8 p.m. and continues thru February 28th. Show features large scale pastels of noted celebrities, paintings highlighting the natural beauty of Jamaica and impressionistic landscapes by four noted local African American artists.
