Kicking off the Southeast Volusia Chamber Challenge 5k Run/Walk
Benefitting the Historic Chamber Building Fund
The gauntlet has been laid down… metaphorically speaking of course! Coming Thursday, April 4th at 5:30pm is the inaugural Southeast Volusia Chamber of Commerce Corporate/Chamber Challenge 5 K Race! The race will begin and end at the Historic Chamber building at 115 Canal Street in Downtown New Smyrna Beach. It’s course consists of 3.1 miles around Historic Canal Street and Riverside Drive on a Fast Flat USATF Certified 5k Course with official timing by Racesmith.
This will be one of the most fun and exciting road races run in Volusia County in 2013! Why? We expect up to 1,000 runners from all over Florida. The Chamber Cup and a Corporate Cup will be awarded to the top respective team and BRAGGING RIGHTS are definitely at stake here. The custom designed Cups will be held by the winning teams for a year and then defended in next year’s race. There is no other race like this in Volusia County and we expect a lot of runners.
Registration is available online at www.register.racesmith.com. Cost is $25 for preregisters and $30 on the day of. 100% of the proceeds from this event are dedicated to the Southeast Volusia Building Fund to continue restorations of the 1933 Historic building.
