Computer basics:  This lecture-based course for beginners will address terminology, the physical components of a computer, and the functions and features of the Windows operating system.

The classes will be in the library’s auditorium. Registration is not required.

The library is open from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Pankcakes in parkThe New Smyrna Museum of History will fire up the griddle for the annual Picnic in the Park fundraiser.

The cost is $6 and includes pancakes, sausage, coffee and orange juice under the oaks.

A local Bluegrass group will provide entertainment.

Shark Behaviorist Lecture @ NSB Regional Library

34879363Shark behaviorist Richard O’Toole will give a video presentation of the sharks of Cocos Island.

The uninhabited island is 300 miles off the coast of Costa Rica and is a favorite diving site because of its large populations of sharks, rays, dolphins, marlin and green turtles.

Reservations are not required for this free program.

The library is open seven days a week. Hours are 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
