Explore Mosquito Lagoon with a digital camera. We will compose the picture and learn about the natural history of the estuary environment. Bring sunscreen and water. If you have a digital camera you can bring it, or use the center’s. Meet at Visitor Center.

Volusia County Extension Director David Griffis will give a presentation about the invasive plants and animals found in New Smyrna Beach.
Reservations are not required.
The library is open from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Various speakers will describe rescue, rehabilitation and the laws that should protect our birds but are often overlooked. The Marine Discovery Center has long been involved in bird rescue by design and by default. In an attempt to organize the many local volunteers who want to be involved, this lecture will offer some tips on bird rescue and what happens to them after that rescue. At this lecture you can sign up to get involved with rescue, transport and rehabilitation of these birds.
This is the last membership meeting before the museum’s Picnic in May. Tootsie McDonald will be sharing about Relay for Life. The vote will also be held on this year’s Board of Directors. Feel free to bring snacks. There is no charge for this event.
