Habitat for Humanity Hires Director of Retail Operations
Southeast Volusia Habitat for Humanity (SEVHFH) has hired Cindy Bacher to direct retail operations in its Volusia County service area.
Bacher has extensive retail experience and most recently managed Ashley Furniture’s Daytona Beach Store. Mary Frances O’Brien will remain store manager at SEVHFH’s popular ReStore in New Smyrna Beach.
SEVHFH, an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, builds and refurbishes houses in New Smyrna Beach, Edgewater and Oak Hill. Prospective home owners are able to buy homes with zero interest mortgages in exchange for working alongside Habitat volunteers. The affiliate has constructed about one hundred homes in the area and made improvements to many others.
SEVHFH’s retail sales generate most of the funds used in this work. Bacher’s goals include increasing sales volume, obtaining more donated items and introducing more building materials and supplies for sale. One of her top priorities will be to enhance community outreach and involvement.
Cindy has three children and is a resident of Port Orange. In her spare time, she is an artist who has participated in many shows and exhibitions.
