Holiday Charity Ball
The 16th Annual Holiday Charity Ball was held on Saturday, November 17, 2012, at the Brannon Center and raised money for Habitat for Humanity, the Council On Aging Meals on Wheels program and the NSB CAPS Scholarship Fund.
The event, organized by Kay Walker, was a huge success featuring more than 20 local restaurants and catering companies who each donated delicious meals, appetizers and desserts. The recently established Amalfitano Catering offered one of the most talked about culinary experiences of the night, taking home 3 awards: First Place in Appetizer, First Place in Entree and Second Place in Ethnic.
Residents from all over the New Smyrna area arrived in their finest to support the charities by participating in raffles and a large silent auction.
“It’s so amazing to see our beautiful community come together for a great cause,” stated NSB Observer freelance writer Tia Mcdonald. “I am so thankful to be a part of such a great group of people.”
After dinner, guests danced into the night with DJ Big Tom and enjoyed musical entertainment by Marilyn Monroe and Elvis impersonators.
