ACA Presentation of Residency #148
When you attend an INsideOUT event at the Atlantic Center for the Arts (ACA), you truly never know what you are going to experience. Neither does the staff of the ACA, because the Artists in Residence that are performing that night are given complete freedom in creating their art.
On Friday, March 8, 2013, the 148th Residency performed their work from the past three weeks spent under the mentorship of Master Artists Carolyn Forche´, Pat Oleszko and Richard Teitelbaum.
The presentation began with Richard Teitelbaum and the musicians in residency. Each musician demonstrated their instruments, and the various techniques they use including found objects and technology.
Next, Carolyn Forche´ and the poets in residency presented works of poetry, prose and memoir.
Finally, Pat Oleszko and the visual artists in residency presented several pieces simultaneously, encouraging the audience to interact with the art and artists.
One of the pieces created during the residency, a lunar module, was auctioned off to Doug McGinnis of the Tropical Blossom Honey Co., who plans to exhibit the piece at the ACA.
The evening concluded with a performance by Pat Oleszko.
