NSB Library’s New Computer Lab Offers Hands – On Training
The New Smyrna Beach Regional Library has opened a new computer lab where staff will provide hands-on training to patrons.
The lab includes eight laptops, a smart board and projector – all donated by the Friends of the Library.
According to Regional Librarian Walter Jubinsky, the new lab will offer a dedicated, quiet facility to enhance learning and increase the number of computer classes offered.
A staff member is on hand to provide individual and group training during lab hours, which are 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday,1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, and 3 to 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
Laptops are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Patrons may also bring their own laptops.
The library also offers free WiFi and 17 adult, three teen and four child public-access computers that are available for one-hour blocks of time. Patrons may use these desktop computers to access the Internet and use installed software programs.
