Oh My That’s a Fine Pie!

Where the locals go to get saucy and cheesy:

  1. Panheads Pizzeria – 386-428-8738, 113 S. Orange St., NSB:  Located just off the west end of Canal Street, this little pizzeria is sure to become one of your favorites. Brother and sister, Eric and Felicia Ross, have followed in their Grandmother’s footsteps and continued in a tradition of pie makers, with a recipe 43 years in the making (their grandmothers original restaurant Mabel’s is still pleasing its customers). With a unique blend of cheeses, fresh toppings and hand rolled dough baked in a square pan for maximum flavor and crisp, it’s a must try. Dine in or carry out is available Monday – Saturday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.  ($-$$)

They boast other tasty Italian fare including salads, calzones and strombolis, and feature an array of mouthwatering pastas. Filippo opened his doors at the age of 24 with $36 to his name and a passion for making traditional New York Style pies. Today he celebrates his 11 year anniversary in business and boasts an extensive  menu of Italian favorites, including: Eggplant Parmigiana, Sicilian style pizza, Sausage and Peppers, Ravioli and Stuffed Shells to name a few.  Dine in, carry out or delivery (limited) is available Monday –  Thursday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday – Saturday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.  ($-$$)
