Starr Ratcliff- OM Bar Bartender/Student
Q: What brought you to NSB?
A: My Momma! She brought me here when I was 4 years old from Tulsa, Oklahoma. She moved here to work on cleaning the beaches and then became the Animal Control Officer in New Smyrna for most of my childhood.
A: I have been in the service industry for 9 years and have been bartending for almost 2.
Q: How long have you worked at OM Bar?
A: I have been at OM Bar since April of this year. I was their Easter present.
Q: Who is your favorite bartender to order drinks from?
A: Jamie O’Malley, because I don’t have to come up with anything. She knows what I want, even when I don’t know what I want.
Q: What is your 5-year plan?
A: To finish my degree in Sociology and find a job in my field that offers benefits and vacation time. I have already received my associate degree in Social Work from Daytona State and I start classes at the University of Central Florida this fall.
Q: What is your favorite meal in town?
A: The Dr. Feelgood specialty pizza from Panheads Pizzeria on Canal Street.
Q: What is your favorite spot on the beach?
A: The dog beach. There are less people and I can bring my dog, Karma.
Q: What do you do on your day off?
Q: Where is your favorite place in town to shop?
A: Inlet Charley’s, because he always has deals for locals.
Q: What is your favorite memory living here so far?
A: Spring break of my sophomore year in high school, my friend Nicole had just gotten a car. It was a Geo Metro Hatchback and 12 of us climbed into it. It was like a little clown car adventure. We all had early release day and headed straight for the beach. It was definitely a good time.
