Surf Camp Registration Continues Into the Summer
“Grommets,” and surfers with all ranges of skills may hang ten as part of the 28th annual New Smyrna Beach Recreation Jimmy Lane Surf Camp.
Classes focus on general ocean safety including the basics of currents, tides and run outs. Jimmy is a certified lifeguard and has been teaching these classes for the Parks and Recreation Department for over 25 years now.
Space is limited each week and the cost to participate is $185 for residents and $190 for non-residents.
Don’t have a surfboard? Don’t worry! Surfboards are available for rent for a nominal fee.
Weekly camps run through August 23 and are held Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on the beach at the intersection of Sapphire Road and Atlantic Avenue, NSB.
*Participants must be strong swimmers.
